BA in Special Education: Liberal Arts - University of Northern Colorado
MA in Special Education: Deaf/Hard of Hearing Emphasis - University of Northern Colorado
I started off as a long-term substitute teacher in Adams 12 Five Stars in Thornton after graduation before moving on to sub at Colorado School for the Deaf & Blind (CSDB) in Colorado Springs. I finally became a full-time Transition teacher at CSDB for 3 years before moving to Oregon. I resided in Oregon for a year and worked as an Itinerant Teacher for the Deaf in the southern part of the state as well as northern California. It was not until I moved back to Colorado and subbed again for American Sign Language classes. This is my second year working for PSD as Teacher for the Deaf/Hard of Hearing. I also help lead the American Sign Language (ASL) Club at Rocky, so I always look forward to see students learn sign language to communicate with our Deaf/HH students here at school!
I love being outdoors going hiking, camping, skiing, and if I would like to do more often, tubing! I look forward to getting to know staff and students at Rocky Mountain HS! I very much enjoy reading books in my spare time as well as maintaining my fitness.
I enjoy working with deaf/hard of hearing students in hopes to be a great Deaf role model for them as well as providing them extra support/reinforcement for their advocacy skills in school and outside in the world.
